James Nils Leth Pedersen, 81, passed away September 6, 2019 at the St. Vincent Medical Center in Portland, OR.. He had lived his last 31 years with his wife Mary Jean, in Canby, OR.

He was born on March 17, 1938 in Tacoma, WA. the son of Laurs, & Emmie who had come from Denmark & Norway, making their home in Enumclaw, WA.

Jim graduated from Enumclaw High School and went on to obtain his B.A in Accounting and Economics at the University of Puget Sound in Tacoma, WA. He met Mary Jean his junior year and they became good friends. They later married.

He started his career as an auditor with Crown Zellerback in San Francisco, CA. , in 1962 and progressed through the company and company changes to retire as Manager of Accounting, Fiber Supply Division of Fort James, Camas, WA. 39 years later.

While in California he married Simica and they had two sons, Jim & Chris. They divorced while living in Cathlamet, WA. 17 years later.

The entertainment he loved was two- fold. Fishing from the shore on local rivers, and at South Point on the Island of Hawaii. His love for Big Band and Blues music, being able to tell who played what instrument in which band; and musical theater where he appreciated the music and the talent of those performing the music.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Jean; his son James N. L. Pedersen, Jr. and wife Amy of Sherwood, Oregon; and son Christopher D. Pedersen and wife Nicci Bergseng of Cathlamet, WA. Step Son Daniel N. Domey and wife Lynne of Baker City, OR. He leaves his brother Louis R. Pedersen and wife Marilyn of Maple Valley, WA. His sister Linda M. Goetting and husband James of Gig Harbor, WA. Grandchildren are Joshua Vincent of Sherwood, OR., and Amber Pedersen of Longview, WA. He also leaves behind his first wife Simica B. Pedersen; niece Anne Kassner of Castle Pines, CO; nephews Mark Goetting of Springs, TX and Ken Goetting of Bellingham, WA. His cousins in Denmark & Norway and his good friends will miss the visits they shared..
