Lillian Harriet Ingalls

Lillian was born on October 17, 1924 in Carpio, North Dakota to John and Ingeborg (Solberg) Solem. She primarily was rasied in Carpio but attended Minot State Teachers College in 1943, about 30 minutes from Carpio. Lillian taught school for two years in a one room school house, teaching all 8 grades out in the North Dakota Prairie.
Lillian met Leland L. Ingalls while helping serve dinner to the men out thrashing the fields. They were married on September 10, 1945 in Sidney, Montana.
Lillian was a wonderful seamstress and made fabulous quilts. Besides working with fabric she loved to cook Lefsa and espically her chocolate chip cookies were to die for. She later stayed home with their children and took care of the house.
From the 1960's - 70's Lillian was a member of the Zoar Lutheran Church and taught Sunday School.
She is survived by her husband Leland Ingalls of Canby, Sons; Steven L. Ingalls (Sandra S.) of Oregon City, Oregon, and Roger A. Ingalls of Aurora, Oregon, Brothers; Gordon Solem (Janice) of Bullhead City, Arizona, and John Solem of Garrison, North Dakota, sister; Julia Geyer of Minot, North Dakota, four grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on February 8, 2020 at 11:00 am at Zoar Lutheran Church, 190 SW Third Ave, Canby, Oregon.
Memorial Contributions can be made to Zoar Lutheran Church Building Fund.
