date of birth September 30 1933
date of death July 13 2020
On Monday, July 13, 2020, Jerrie Lee Hogan, Registered Nurse and loving mother of four children, passed away at the age of 86.
Jerrie was born to Raymond and Bessie Barmore in Modesto, California, on September 30, 1933. She grew up on a dairy farm in Ceres, California, and was the youngest of five children. Jerrie went to nursing school at Keizer, in Richland, California, and enjoyed a varied nursing career in medical clinics, surgery, obstetrics, geriatrics, and foot care.
Jerrie lived a Christian life by showing love to her family, neighbors, and her community. Her big heart spread to hosting Good News Clubs, and volunteering at her local church, the Canby Pregnancy Care Center, a prison ministry, and Hospice care. Jerrie’s hobbies included gardening, her dog “Lucy”, square-dancing, and involvement in women’s bible studies. Jerrie had a love of the outdoors, but her biggest pride and joy was time spent with her family.
Jerrie was preceded in death by her father, Raymond, and her mother, Bessie; along with brother, Jan, and sisters, Bernice, and Betty; grandson, Tyler; and husband of 40 years, Richard Hogan. She is survived by her four children, Russ, Phil, Cathy, and Brian, and six grandsons, four granddaughters, and six great grandchildren.
A graveside memorial service is planned for Saturday, July 18, 2020, at Zion Memorial Park Cemetery, in Canby, at 11am. Funeral arrangements are being made by Canby Funeral Chapel. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Canby Pregnancy Care Center.
