Theresa Ellen Kinch

date of birth July 14 1952

date of death March 11 2021

Theresa Ellen Kinch passed away peacefully in her home in Canby, Oregon on March 11, 2021 with her husband and two children by her side.

Theresa was born on July 14, 1952 in Muncie, Indiana. She graduated from Bennett High School in Marion, Indiana where she met her best friend, soul mate, and loving partner, Jason Kinch. They were married in 1971 and recently celebrated 50 years of marriage.

After attending Ball State University, Theresa moved with her young family from Indiana to Santa Barbara, California while husband Jason finished his education. Job offers and the love of outdoor activities brought Theresa to Hillsboro, Oregon and later Banks, Oregon where she quickly settled her family.

Theresa was an amazing woman, wife, mother, and friend who’s smile and zest for life was infectious. She was blessed with a loving family and raised two beautiful children with tender patience and unconditional love and affection. Theresa had a passion for cooking, traveling, gardening, country western music and all things Motown. Most importantly, even as she pursued many varied interests, her family’s well-being remained the central focus of her life. Her strength of character and courageous resiliency inspired her well earned nickname “Wonder Woman” as she valiantly battled three bouts of cancer over 22 years.

After retiring as operations manager from the family business, Jason Kinch Photographic, she and Jason embarked on a two-year journey touring the United States and Canada, living and exploring in their Airstream trailer.

Theresa is survived by her husband, Jason, Canby, Oregon; her daughter, Heather Kinch, Canby, Oregon and son, Justin Kinch, Cannon Beach, Oregon; her sister Mary Kay Ertle, Muncie, Indiana, and two brothers Mike Dick, Muncie, Indiana and Joe Kaiser, Fort Wayne, Indiana. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ross and Ellen Dick.

A Catholic mass and celebration of Theresa’s life will be held at St. Cyril Catholic Church, 9205 SW 5th Street, Wilsonville, Oregon, on Wednesday April 14, 2021 at 1:30pm

In lieu of flowers, it was Theresa’s wish that contributions be made to:
