date of death December 13 2020
Someone so special can never be forgotten Greg Michael Shultz passed away on Sunday, December 13, 2020, at his home. He passed away two days after his 71st birthday. Greg was born on December 11, 1949, in Canby, Oregon to Rex Theron Shultz and Vivian Mae Shultz. Greg was the youngest of six children: Cynthia, Gary, Bunny, Glenn & Gale.
The small family hom at Main & Berkley was the meeting place for all. A home that was always open and the kids were always ready for a pick up game. The basketball games would bring the community together for all to play or watch. In the backyard, you would find the baseball bases were worn into the ground from the games that would last well into the dark. The tight knit family was involved in the Catholic church. Greg met the love of his life Connie Wyland in 1971 and they married in 1974.
He is survived by his loving wife Connie Wyland Shultz, sons; Adam & Matthew, Daughter in laws Rachel & Annette, and the ones that made him smile the most, his grandchildren; Dillon, Madison, Wylie & Paisley.
Greg had a life long dedication to Willamette Egg Farms that started on Christmas Eve 1973 and lasted 47 years. At Willamette Egg Farms, Greg made many life long and treasured friendships with
old and young alike. He was a Friend and mentor to many people that he bet along his journey.
Greg was a dedicated Molalla sports fan. He never missed his sons or grandkids sporting events as well as supporting local teams of all types. He was a well-loved coach for multiple youth teams from basketball, baseball and soccer. Greg followed in his Father’s moving chains at the Molalla High School games for 38 years.
To know Greg was to love him and to know meant you felt his love: love of people and love of life.
Greg’s devotion to friends and family is unsurpassed, but he’s also known for his upbeat personality and never speaking negatively of anyone. His warmth and friendliness for all people ensured that he never met a stranger. One of Greg’s favorite things was camping at Diamond Lake; a 45 year tradition which focused on trout fishing and spending time around the fire with his family. He sparked this love of Diamond Lake and sense of tradition in all of his family, which will continue for many generations. He also spent many weekends rooting for his favorite Oregon State Beavers.
In your encounters with Greg, you quickly found his uncanny ability to tell a story. Typically, it would be a long one. But his favorite stories all centered around his passion, pride, love and dedication for his family.
Graveside service will ne held at Molalla Memorial Cemetery/Dart Cemetery 33610 S. Wilhoit Rd. Molalla on Saturday, December 19th at 11 am. Father Ed Coleman will be officiating
